A Tale That Stayed With Me

Hey there, beautiful souls! πŸ’«
How’s life treating you all?
First off, a big sorry for going MIA these past two weeks. I know my posting schedule has been all over
the place lately — blame it on the whirlwind of exams, competitions, internship and endless classes (student life, right? πŸ˜…). But I promise, I haven’t forgotten you. The good news? I’m officially back — and with a bang! To make it up to you, I’ll be posting two blogs this week. Yes, you heard that right! One today, and another one dropping this Thursday, so stay tuned. πŸ’Œ

Let's dive into today's post!

Sometimes, life teaches you the most beautiful lessons in the most unexpected ways — in a cracked window, a burst of laughter, or a passing smile from someone you barely knew.
A few days ago, while coming back from my internship, my friend Shonima shared a story that left me speechless. It wasn’t dramatic. It wasn’t loud. But it was pure. And something about it stayed with me long after she stopped talking.

There was a couple living alone, their children settled far away, building lives of their own. One evening, while playing with firecrackers, Shonima and her friends accidentally shattered the glass window of their house. The wife rushed out, furious. But then, something unexpected happened.

The husband came out. But instead of shouting, scolding, or even looking upset… he smiled.

He calmed his wife down and then — in a moment that feels straight out of a movie — he started playing with them. Lighting firecrackers, laughing like a child, telling them silly jokes. That man, in his quiet, joyful way, made them feel safe, happy, understood, and spread joy as if he had all the time in the world.

But he didn’t.

He was battling lung cancer, and he knew his days were numbered.

That night, he shared a simple yet powerful truth: Life is short. This world is vast, and we won’t ever have enough time to experience it all. So, appreciate what you have and just be happy🩷✨

And now he’s gone. Just like that. But his words — his presence — they’re still here. In the laughter he left behind. In the lesson that happiness isn’t a result of a perfect life. It’s a choice we make in spite of life’s imperfections.

We keep waiting for the “right” time — when exams are over, when we grow up, when we have it all figured out. But maybe the point is not to have it figured out. Maybe the point is to dance in the chaos, laugh through the cracks, and be kind anyway. How often do we chase more, worry about what we don’t have, and forget to simply be? That man understood something we often overlook—happiness isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment. It’s about embracing the ones we have.

So here’s a reminder: Live boldly. Love deeply. Laugh freely. Be present. Because like firecrackers in the night sky, our time here is fleeting—but we can make it shine.🌟

And to that stranger with the firecrackers —

Thank you for the reminder.
Thank you for choosing joy.
You were someone’s light in the dark.
And now, you’re mine too.❤️

Have you ever met someone who left a lasting impact in just one moment? Tell me in the comments!
Also, a big shoutout to my amazing friend Shonima for sharing this beautiful story with me. πŸ’›
If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have known about this little moment of magic — one that left such a deep mark on my heart. Thank you for reminding me (and now all of us) that even strangers can leave behind unforgettable lessons. You're the real MVP of this post!

                                                                                                                      Until next time
