It Wasn’t Just a School Trip —It Was a Moment in Time

Hello Beautiful souls!
How are u all?

I’m back with another blog, and as promised, this one is about my first-ever school trip to Udaipur.

Convincing my parents? Honestly, not tough at all. It was the last trip of my school year, and they themselves said, “Go for it.” And I’m so glad they did.

Because some experiences don’t just happen; they stay.

My trip to Udaipur was one of them.

Not because everything was perfect (it wasn’t), not because it looked like a Pinterest board (though parts of it definitely did), but because it felt real. Messy. Warm. Unforgettable.

It was a five-day trip with an overnight train journey. The train left on a Saturday evening, and I’ll be very honest; the entire week before that was chaos. Performances, deadlines, exams… I even had an exam on the day of the trip.

But let’s be real not even all of that combined could reduce my excitement for a second.

Two hours of sleep, one hectic exam, suitcase ready, backpack packed... and I was at school.

The Beginning: Trains, Teasing & All the fun

It all began on the train; the kind of train journey where sleep is optional and conversations are not. Eight seats. Too many people. Too much laughter. The journey started on an overnight train. Girls in one coach, boys in another; at least that was the plan. Soon enough, everyone found their way around.

So many people, one space, zero volume control. People are dancing like crazies, someone is showing card magic tricks. Wait, ngl they were really cool! We talked, laughed, sat in weird positions, and completely ignored the concept of personal space (or does that even exists?). At some point, conversations overlapped so much that no one knew who was talking to whom and honestly, that was the vibe for most of the trip.

Trains do that. They make time feel flexible.

Udaipur Mornings: Blue Skies & Open Hair

We reached early morning, straight to the lake. No filters needed. Udaipur doesn’t ask for them.

I was in blue wide-leg jeans, a baby blue cropped sweatshirt, white sneakers, open hair. Comfortable, unplanned, myself. There’s something about early mornings that strips you of pretence. You’re just there, breathing, existing.

The lake was calm. So was I. Photos started early and never really stopped after that.

Some were planned.
Most were accidental.
All of them now feel oddly important.

(Also… someone please save my gallery. It’s about to explode 😭)

hayee... imagine me being the Queen here!🤭

This place still has my heart...🤌🏻🫶🏻✨

People Make Places

Udaipur is beautiful, yes! the palaces, the lakes, the history.
But what made this trip special were the people.

Friends who turned ordinary moments into inside jokes. Teachers who felt less like authority figures and more like spectators to our chaos. Conversations that flowed without effort. Silence that didn’t feel awkward. There were forts, stairs, jokes about outfits not meant for climbing, bags being passed around, shoelaces being tied mid-way, and teachers pretending not to notice half of it.

Somewhere between all that, the trip stopped feeling structured and started feeling easy. Conversations flowed without effort. Teasing was casual. Laughing didn’t need reasons. Everything just… flowed.

And that’s when it hit me; this wasn’t just a trip. It was a snapshot of a phase of life that won’t come back in the same way again.

Evenings: Where Everyone Comes Alive

Evenings were loud. Buses filled with music, people shouting song requests, DJ nights that were more chaos than rhythm. But that chaos was fun.

Everyone was everywhere. Rooms didn’t matter. Floors didn’t matter. You’d start a conversation in one place and finish it somewhere completely different.

There’s something freeing about being surrounded by people who know you, but not completely. You get to just be. Not perform, not explain.

After DJ effects...
                                    The group!❤️❤️❤️

The Return Journey & Unexpected Coincidences

The return train felt different. Tired, but fuller. Birthdays came up, as they always do in random school conversations.

“26th November,” I said casually.

“26th November,” he said next.

Cue chaos. Teasing. Imaginary weddings. Imaginary kids. An entire coach laughing like we had nothing better to do (we didn’t). What struck me wasn’t the jokes; it was how easy it all felt. No awkwardness. No discomfort. Just… comfort.

Sometimes, it’s the smallest coincidences that feel the loudest.

No one took it seriously.
And that’s exactly why it was fun.

and the bad quality aesthetic!

What This Trip Actually Gave Me

This trip wasn’t life-changing in a dramatic way.
It didn’t give me answers.

Someone asked me later if I regretted going; if I should’ve stayed back and studied instead.

Honestly? It doesn’t feel wrong at all.

This trip gave me memories I’ll probably talk about ten years from now... maybe at a reunion party.
(If people from my school are reading this don’t forget about that reunion, okay? I’m counting on it 🤍)

It gave me perfect Instagram pictures and even better, the dumb ones reserved for friends’ birthdays.

But more than that, it gave me awareness.

That comfortable moments don’t need announcements.
That fun and closeness can coexist without confusion.
That growing up sometimes looks like laughing at midnight instead of overthinking.

When I came back home exhausted, overwhelmed, and strangely calm. I realised something simple:

This trip wasn’t about Udaipur.

It was about us; a group of people, at this exact point in time, sharing something for the first time.

And I think that’s what makes it special.

Not the destination.

But the memory.

My first school trip taught me this:
Not every experience needs to be intense to be meaningful.
Some just sit with you quietly... and that’s enough. 🤍

Before you leave —
If you’ve ever been on a school trip that stayed with you longer than expected, I’d love to hear about it.
Comment below and tell me your favourite memory; the chaos, the laughter, or that one moment you still think about.

And if this made you smile even a little, share it with someone who was once part of your school trip story 🤍
